Shadeport Repairs & Refurbishment

We repair and maintain carports and shadeports in Randburg, Sandton and surrounding northern Johannesburg, including Honeydew. From worn seams and damaged netting to weathered steelwork, we assess what can be repaired and what needs replacement.

 

Shade net washing and restitching

Where the fabric is still suitable, we remove the net, wash it thoroughly, repair and restitch worn seams, then refit and tension it. We assess the net, edge cable and fixings as part of the quoted work. Washing may not remove every stain or tree-sap mark, and it does not reverse UV damage. Brittle fabric that cannot hold new stitching may need replacement.

Rusted steel refurbishment and repainting

We prepare weathered steelwork, remove loose paint and surface rust, clean the surfaces and repaint the frame as specified in the quotation. This can be combined with restitching or net replacement. Severe corrosion, damaged members, foundations and structural repairs require assessment and an agreed scope; repainting alone does not restore weakened steel.

 

New shade nets and carport repairs

When repair is no longer practical, we can replace the shade net and assess cables and fixings. We also repair solid-roof IBR carports and replace roof sheets where needed. The quotation confirms the materials and work included.

 

Routine maintenance

Periodic inspections help identify loose fixings, worn seams, cable problems and developing corrosion. Ask for an inspection after visible damage or storm damage. A repair recommendation depends on the condition of the existing net and structure, not age or photographs alone.

 

Honeydew shadeport makeover — 1 October 2026

For this Honeydew project, we refurbished the existing cantilevered steel frame, repainted it and fitted a new shade net. The project photographs show the work during refurbishment and the completed result. This was a net replacement, rather than a restitching job.
